Many Veterans Park staff and students arrived to school on Friday, December 1st, ready to snuggle into learning wearing their favorite pair of pajamas! announcing this month's First Mates from Veterans Park School.
Pajama Day has become an annual tradition that is part of monthly spirit days. Congratulations to each of these students who were acknowledged for being role models of RESPONSIBILITY.

Sending our congratulations to Baird Middle School Foreign Language teacher and Community Club advisor, Anna Etkin, who recently honored by the Sgt. Desforges VFW Post 3236/Ludlow as part of the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award. CONGRATS to all students who participated and were recognized at the event.
Matt Lussier (LHS) was awarded 1st place for his Voice of Democracy audio essay and Luke Page (BMS) was awarded 1st place for his Patriot's Pen essay.
Third grade students in Michele Manganaro-Thompson’s class are learning about responsibility and how working cooperatively can help keep the classroom running smoothly, by being assigned classroom jobs. The military guests included fathers, grandfathers, mothers, uncles, aunts and friends who had received an invitation to attend the event by a Veterans Park student.

After several years, LHS decided this year to bring back the tradition of recognizing students of the month. the 1st students to be recognized were juniors, Brianna Walas and Emily Haryasz. Learning about what it takes to be financially stable and planning for future career paths are important skills for all students to learn.
